April 23, 2001:

I see I need to clear something up for you. Quote from you site:

[Quoted] "It just wouldn't do to have Abraham's son marry one of those dirty Canaanites, would it? It amazes me that people can read the Bible and not see anything wrong with the conduct of its heroes. Suppose we changed the names? The above passage might become: "Billy Joe Jim-Bob was a God-fearing man, and he said to his chief servant, I want you to swear by the Lord that you won't let my son marry a black woman, but you will find a white woman for him." How does that strike you? Lovely sentiment, isn't it?"

The point in these verses is that God chose the Isrealites to be His people seperated from the world.

In other words, God wholeheartedly supports racism.

[Editor's note: notice the psychological complex: Abraham made a blatantly racist statement, and Mr. Miller defends it by saying that God wanted it that way, as if that somehow makes it acceptable. He will continue this trend as we continue: in his mind, any immoral action or belief is acceptable if God says so]

The people of the world had rejected God and He did not want His people to mingle with them.

In other words, God wholeheartedly encourages religious bigotry and separatism.

But they did and it caused them to sin. If the people of the world would reject their ways and follow God they were welcomed and it did occur. One even became part of Christ's lineage.

In other words, all who refuse to obey God must suffer and be treated as inferiors. Thanks for confirming my suspicions about your own deep-seated bigotry and religious intolerance.

[Trying to defend my in-laws' racially and religiously motivated attacks on me] This also leads to the New Testament proclomation of not being unequally yoked. This is what your in-laws were most likely refering to.

Of course. They were religious bigots just like you. They believed in religious separatism and segregation just like you do, because the Bible encourages such bigotry.

[Editor's note: notice how he automatically takes my in-laws' side, even though he does not question my honesty in telling what happened. He knows that they caused my wife and I much grief and sorrow even though we had done nothing to them, but he takes their side anyway because they're devout Christians and I'm not. That is the nature of fundamentalist bigotry; fellow Christians are always elevated above non-Christians. This extends to all walks of life, from romantic relationships to friendly relationships and even business relationships. In fact, many fundamentalists publicly advocate a policy of systematic economic discrimination against non-Christians, by exhorting their fellow Christians to purchase goods and services only from Christian-owned businesses]

They warned their daughter about be yoked to an arrogant ungodly man.

In other words, they (and you) believe that religions should be segregated. If I don't follow your religion then I cannot possibly be a good husband or father. Once again, thanks for confirming that you are a religious bigot.

[Editor's note: notice how he uses "ungodly" as a synonym for immoral, as do all fundamentalists. However, the fact that I am godless hardly makes me immoral. In fact, given the horror of God's Old Testament atrocities, I would dare say that it might very well mean the opposite. As for his accusation that I am "arrogant", he never says whether he thinks I'm arrogant because I don't humour his delusions, or because I'm an atheist. Either way, I'm not exactly going to lose sleep over it]

She didn't listen and what happened? You tore that family apart. I can only imagine what you are teaching your children about their grandparents.

The truth. That they are religious bigots, just like you. They probably blame me for the results of their own actions, just like you do. I never tore that family apart; they did, by rejecting their own daughter when she failed to obey their bigoted edicts.
